Peru to Mexico: Complete Plug & Adapter Guide (2026) Adapter Needed
Traveling from Peru to Mexico means crossing into a different electrical system. Before you leave, take a moment to understand the plug types and voltage used in Mexico so you can keep all your devices charged and ready.
Both Peru and Mexico use Type A plugs, so your devices should plug right in. An adapter isn't strictly necessary for this trip.
Voltage is another key difference. Peru uses 220V while Mexico uses 127V. If your device only supports one voltage, using it with the wrong supply could cause overheating or permanent damage. Look for "Input: 100-240V" on your charger. Most modern phone and laptop chargers support this range.
When packing for Mexico, bring at least one adapter per room if you're traveling with others. Airport shops often sell them at a markup, so ordering one online beforehand saves money. A small power strip from home can also multiply a single adapter into several outlets.
